Annual Black History Month Celebration
The First Annual Black History Month Celebration was held in February of 2008. The EYC, along with a number of corporate, educational, and individual supporters formed the Black History Month collaborative. As the lead agency, the EYC sought to promote and recognize the achievements of African-Americans in politics, civil-rights, education, and the fine arts.

Black History Month celebration encompasses more than a dozen events during the nationally recognized Black History Month. During its inaugural year, The EYC recognized by the Mayor and the City Council of Santa Barbara for the positive impact that the event had on the local community.

The EYC is proud to present the following events during this month-long celebration:

Black History Commencement Assembly
Martin Luther King Jr. Talent Showcase
Future Black Leaders Conference
Black Achievement Awards and Ceremony
'Night of Jazz' Concert and Reception
Black History Month Celebration-Hanging of the Flags Ceremony
